Moly Natural Gas Engine Oil SAE 15W-40 is superior, low ash natural gas engine oil that is specially formulated for use in stationary 2-cycle and 4-cylcle stoichometric and lean burning natural gas engines and alternately fueled vehicles powered by compressed natural gas or liquefied natural gas.
It is blended from the finest high viscosity index severely solvent refined severely hydro-finished 100% pure paraffin base stocks available that provide it with:
- Excellent Thermal Stability
- High Lubricity
- Excellent Resistance to Oxidation & Thermal Degradation
- A Naturally High Viscosity Index
- Excellent Film Strength
Blended into the oil is a highly specialized additive package that contains the proper balance of detergent, dispersant, rust and oxidation inhibitors and anti- wear additives and a highly shear stable viscosity index improver that allows the Moly Natural Gas Engine Oil SAE 15W-40 to provide the following performance advantages:
- Excellent piston groove, land, and skirt cleanliness.
- Elimination of piston skirt varnish.
- Improved oxidation and nitration stability.
- A vast reduction in piston ring sticking.
- A reduction and modification of carbon deposits on piston crowns, combustion chamber walls, spark plugs, cylinder wall, etc.
- Reduced piston, ring, cylinder wall, and bearing wear.
- Reduced port deposits and port plugging.
- Reduced bearing corrosion.
- Extended oil filter life.
- Longer spark plug life.
- Minimized combustion chamber ash accumulation and plug fouling.
- Catalytic converter compatibility.
- Excellent TBN retention. This allows for the products use in natural gas engines that are fueled by sour gas or fuel gas that contains up to 0.3% sulfur as hydrogen sulfide and small amounts of organic halides such as chlorides,
- Superior valve train-wear protection.
- Excellent high temperature/high shear performance in order to provide excellent oil film thickness and engine protection at high operating temperatures and shear rates, while minimizing lubricant frictional resistance.
- Excellent thermal and oxidative stability and anti-coking properties.
- Superior low volatility characteristics.
- Rapid circulation and good pumpability at low temperatures.
- Excellent shear stability in order to stay in grade over the oils’ drain interval.
- Excellent anti-foaming characteristics.
- Increased engine durability and reliability.
- Longer oil drain interval capability.
- Reduced downtime and maintenance.
Further blended into the oil is a proven frictional modifier, Micron Moly®. that plates to the metal surfaces of the engine forming a long lasting lubricant film that prevents the metal surfaces from coming into contact with each other. By preventing metal-to-metal contact, damaging frictional wear is eliminated, which leads to less downtime and longer equipment life.
