Schaeffer to introduce two racing engine oils and showcase a new trade show booth at 2023 PRI
St. Louis, MO. (December 1, 2023): Schaeffer’s Specialized Lubricants is revving up for an exciting 2023 Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Show on December 7-9 by introducing two new racing oils and showcasing a new trade show booth.
Micron Moly® Racing Oil SAE 70 and Micron Moly® Racing Oil 10W-30 are designed for high-performance engines using alcohol/methanol-based fuels. What makes Schaeffer’s Micron Moly® Racing Oils different is their ability to resist separating from alcohol-based fuels, which can cause fuel dilution and a loss in oil viscosity.
“Our Micron Moly® Racing Oils are made to emulsify with the fuel, so they maintain viscosity longer,” said Steve Rober, West Regional Director for Schaeffer. “That stay-in-grade performance is better for the engine, and it extends the life of the oil, so you’re not changing it as often.”
Micron Moly® Racing Oils have been part of Schaeffer’s product line for decades, but the company is seeing more demand for applications running alcohol/methanol-based fuels. Funny Cars, Top Fuel Dragsters and Diesel Tractor Pullers need the heavier SAE 70 viscosity to compensate for looser bearing clearances and to address fuel dilution. With aluminum block engines, bearing clearances are tighter to support the engine during racing conditions, and a multi-viscosity oil like 10W-30 is needed.
“We’re big in dirt track racing, and the performance of our products and support from our sales reps have allowed us to expand into other motorsports, like drag racing, which is a growing segment for Schaeffer,” said Rober. “Now we have more oil options for the racing industry, which we love because racers push their engines to the limits, and our oils can take it.”
Along with the new racing oils, Schaeffer will have a new illuminated trade show booth at the show. Occupying two 10’ x 30’ spaces on both sides of the aisle, the new booth features tables made from the company’s oil drums and creative use of the company’s colors and logos.
