Muffler Man, Kalamzoo, MI

Muffler Man has a regular customer with a 2001 Dodge Ram Quad Cab with a 5.9L Cummins engine who was looking for improved fuel economy. They went to great lengths, installing several performance parts including a complete K&N Intake Kit, a modified lift pump, a 4' performance exhaust system as well as a Super Tuner. They drained and filled the transfer case, differentials and transmission with Royal Purple lubricants plus filled the big Cummins engine with Shell Rotella-T engine oil. All this effort and expense brought the customer about 1 mpg increase in fuel economy. Not quite exactly the home run they were all looking for.

It was about this time that Muffler Man started hearing about Schaeffer Lubricants. They invited the local Schaeffer rep to come in and discuss what Schaeffer products had to offer. They put Schaeffer products to the test in the '01 Dodge Cummins project. They drained all fluids, converting the Dodge to Schaeffer using Supreme 7000® 15W-40 engine oil, All-Trans Supreme transmission fluid in the tranny and transfer case and Supreme 75W-90 gear oil in the differential. After adding a bottle of Neutra to the fuel tank, they sent the customer down the road and waited for the feedback.

Converting this working truck to Schaeffer lubricants and fuel additives took it from an average of 16.4 mpg up to 19 mpg! That's a whopping 15.9% gain and includes time pulling a trailer. The customer quoted: "I finally got the fuel economy I was looking for."
